Olympic Golf is a sport of precision and strategy in which players use clubs to advance a ball over 18 holes in as few strokes as possible. Each hole is unique and provides a variety of challenging obstacles to add to the difficulty of the game. At the Olympic Games level, Golf follows a stroke-play format, featuring four 18-hole rounds of play. The player with the lowest 72-hole total at the end of four rounds will be the gold medalist.
Golf was one of the earliest sports to include both men's and women's events, starting at the St. Louis 1904 Olympic Games. Golf at LA28 will make history yet again, introducing a mixed team event for the first time, featuring two-person teams of men and women playing over 36 holes.
